Founded in 1990 with the Holy Family as its patron, Nazareth is a retreat centre at Cable Nagar, Karukutty, given over to the family. Four days are set apart at a time, and the whole household comes — father, mother and children — to pray, to be heard, and to begin again.

Who We Are
A house set apart for families
The centre is run by the Sisters of Nazareth, whose one aim as a congregation is the sanctification of families. Families come here for four days at a stretch, stay on the campus, and give the time wholly to prayer, teaching and one another. Alongside the retreats, counsellors are available through the week for anyone who needs to talk.

The retreat the centre is built around. The whole household comes, stays on the campus for four days, and takes part in every session side by side — the preaching, the prayer and the quiet alike.

Four times a year the centre sets aside three days for those in their later years — gentler in pace, and preached for a turn of life when the questions are different.

The centre does not close when a retreat ends. The sisters and the counselling team stay available through the week.
Counselling & Psychotherapy
Family counselling, counselling for couples, for young people and for children — with trained counsellors. Please book in advance if you can.

Gatherings for husbands and wives — a day given to the marriage itself, apart from the demands of the household.

Intercessory Prayer
Intercessory prayer is offered at the centre every Wednesday morning. Anyone may come, and anyone may send an intention.

The Campus
A quiet place to stay for four days
Rooms for families, a hall that holds everyone, meals cooked on the premises, and ground enough for children to run.
Rooms for families
Families stay on the campus for the whole retreat. Tell the office when you book how many are coming and whether anyone needs help getting about.
The retreat hall
A hall large enough to hold every family taking part, where the preaching and the common sessions are held.
The chapel
Kept open through the retreat for the sacraments, for adoration, and for anyone who wants to sit quietly.
Meals in common
Meals are cooked on the premises and taken together. Tell us in advance about any diet or medical need.
Room for the children
Space for children to be children between sessions, and ground enough outside for them to run.
Counselling rooms
Quiet rooms where a family, a couple or a young person can speak with a counsellor without being overheard.
