The retreat the centre is built around. The whole household comes, stays on the campus for four days, and takes part in every session side by side — the preaching, the prayer and the quiet alike.

You will go home able to…

  • Take in the spirituality of family life.
  • Understand what each person in the house is like, and warm the bonds between them.
  • Recognise again the greatness of the bond between husband and wife, and live it contentedly.
  • Raise children who are filled with the grace of God.
  • Come through your troubles and know joy again.
  • Shape a family that is led by the Holy Spirit.

Families arrive on the first day and stay until the last. The retreat is preached for everyone at once — a father, a mother and their children sit through the same sessions rather than being separated into groups for the whole of it.

Meals are taken in common. There is time set aside for rest and for families to be with one another, away from work, school and the telephone. Counsellors are on the campus through the retreat for anyone who wants to talk privately.

Coming for the whole retreat

Please plan to stay for all four days. Much of what the retreat does depends on staying — the quiet of the second evening does work that the first morning cannot.

Bringing children

Children are expected, not merely allowed. When you book, tell us how many are coming and their ages, and the office will tell you what to bring for them.

Things families ask us

The retreat is preached for a household — parents and children together. Come as a family rather than sending one member. If you are unsure whether your situation fits, ring the office and ask; nobody is turned away for asking.

Yes. The retreat is built around parents and children taking part side by side, and that is what makes it different from a retreat one person attends alone. Tell us the ages of the children when you book.

Please plan to. The retreat is designed to be lived through from beginning to end, and much of what it does depends on staying. If that is genuinely impossible for your family, speak to the office before you book.

Either ring the booking line between 9 in the morning and 5 in the evening, or send a request through this website. Nothing is paid online — a request reaches the office and the office rings you back to confirm the place.

Please ask the office when you ring. They will tell you what is expected for the retreat you have chosen and what it covers.
